Bio:

Step back in time and fly away with the essence of a man who continues to capture the hearts of millions. Matt Mauser & The Pete Jacobs Big Band: A Tribute to Frank Sinatra captivates multi-generational Frank Sinatra fans across the globe.

Music is the heart and soul of entertainer, Matt Mauser. From a young age, Matt would sing and dance while making up his own lyrics to Elvis songs as his father played the guitar. On his eighth birthday his mom bought him his first guitar, and he wrote his first song that week.

In 1997, Matt founded the party/rock band, Tijuana Dogs, with his friend Marcos de la Cruz. A few months later, Matt called upon his college guitar teacher, Dave Murdy, to join the band. Long-time friend and bassist Rick Deeb rounded out the group in 1998, and their unique style was met with rave reviews.

Matt Mauser + Pete Jacobs = Sinatra Big Band

As the Tijuana Dogs grew in popularity, the band was often asked to perform at weddings, corporate parties, and events that required a more sophisticated style of music. It was during that time when Matt fell in love with the music of Frank Sinatra. Mesmerized by Sinatra’s smooth voice and unsurpassed phrasing, Matt memorized the sound and subtleties of each Frank Sinatra song.

In 2005, Matt was introduced to renowned producer, conductor and musician, Pete Jacobs, by fellow band mate Dave Murdy. At the time, Dave was performing with both the Tijuana Dogs and Pete’s 16-piece big band, Wartime Radio Revue. In 2011, Matt approached Pete with the idea of starting a Frank Sinatra tribute band. Pete, without hesitation, jumped at the chance. They immediately went to work charting music, recording vocals, and rehearsing with the big band. Their collaboration has led to a beautiful partnership in capturing the essence of a young Frank Sinatra at the height of his career, when singing with The Count Basie Orchestra at The Sands hotel in Las Vegas.
