The concept is pretty simple. Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort welcomes the public to utilize many of the resort amenities without reserving a cottage or camping overnight. Enjoy living like a local along the Back Bay.

Satisfy your palate with fresh burgers, sandwiches, bacon-wrapped hot dogs, and pizza. Cool down under the California sunshine with a refreshing selection of cocktails.

Watersports Rentals

Make the most out of your visit. Rent a kayak or stand-up paddle board and explore the Back Bay. Perhaps you want to take it up a notch and reserve one of our new 21-foot Duffy boats for a cruise along the bay. Hours change seasonally.

Pirate Playground

Ahoy Matie! Kids love playing in the sand at our Pirates Playground. Pilot the ship, ring the bell, climb all about, and slide down the tube. There are fun things for various aged children.

We also offer swings and a giant blue Moe B the Whale on the sand to climb on.

Public Beach

Bring your beach chairs, umbrellas, floats and beach toys and come enjoy the public beach with calm waters to entice a dip.

Lifeguard On-Duty Summer Hours: 10:00am – 6:00pm (Sunday – Saturday) (Memorial Weekend – Early October) Lifeguard On-Duty Winter Hours: 10:00am – 5:00pm (Saturday- Sunday) (October – May)

Summer Inflatable Aquatic Park
- Closed for the Season

Never-ending thrills and chills await at one of So Cal's largest inflatable water park. There are 30+ different inflatables including slides, icebergs, bounce platforms and jungle gym. We have a special section for smaller children.

Life jackets are included. Must be 5 years of age or older to use. Closed for the season.

Reopens Memorials Day Weekend 2025.

Seasonal Activities

Beach Cabanas

Stay cool and shaded between swims in our private beach cabana with two chaise lounges, perfectly positioned between Moe B's Munchies and the bay. Available seasonally. Make your water sports reservations in advance.

Summer Movies on the Beach

Experience a Movies on the Beach night under the stars with a complimentary screening of family films. Enjoy summer nights with snacks in front of the big screen. Bring your chairs and blankets for a relaxing evening on the sand. Friday and Saturday nights at dusk throughout summer.

Day visitors using our parking lot need to pay for parking.

Special Holiday or Event Parking May Be Different Rates.

Holiday Weekend Parking Rates

Holiday weekend parking is a flat $35 daily rate (dates include May 24, 25, July 3, 5, 6, August 30, 31). Day-of parking on the 4th of July is a flat $50, reserved parking is $100. There is no hourly rate on these dates.

Daily Boat Launch

$15 in Winter / $20 in Summer (Friday of Memorial weekend through Labor Day weekend) / $35 on 4th of July

Location

Newport Dunes is located in the heart of Newport Beach, just off Jamboree at Pacific Coast Highway.  The resort is on the Back Bay so the water is calmer and warmer than the Pacific Ocean.
