General Questions
Q: Where is Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort located?
A: Newport Dunes is located in Newport Beach, California, on the Back Bay, just minutes from Fashion Island, Balboa Island, and Pacific Coast Highway.
Q: What makes Newport Dunes special?
A: Newport Dunes combines luxury RV camping with a full-service marina, beachfront dining, water sports rentals, concerts, and an inflatable water park.
Q: Can I camp in a tent at Newport Dunes?
A: Yes. In addition to full-hookup RV sites, Newport Dunes offers tent camping just steps from the waterfront.
Tent camping is available in our Small sites. We also offer group camping on the beach for non-profit groups only. Please call our sales department at 949-729-3800 for more information about non-profit group camping.
Q: What family activities are available at Newport Dunes?
A: Families enjoy the Inflatable Aquatic Park, kayak and paddleboard rentals, swimming lagoon, and live music events right on the beach.
Q: Is Newport Dunes open to day visitors?
A: Yes. Day guests can enjoy the beach, dine at Moe B’s Munchies, or attend events. Paid parking applies.
Q: Can I fish at Newport Dunes?
A: There is no fishing allowed within the lagoon or on the bridge. Fishing is no longer allowed anywhere on property.
Amenities
Q: Do you offer laundry services?
A: Yes. We offer a self-serve laundry facility located adjacent to the Resort Pool Complex.
Q: What are the dining options on-property?
A: On weekends and during the summer season (from Memorial Weekend through Labor Day), our beachfront grill and bar, Moe B’s Munchies, is available for fresh sandwiches, pizzas, burgers, and handcrafted cocktails.
Q: Can non-resort guests purchase a day pass for the pool?
A: No. Our Resort Pool Complex and Poolside Cabanas are exclusively for resort guests only.
Q: Do you offer planned activities and events?
A: Yes. Our Moe B’s Friends program for guests offers both kids and adult planned activities. We also host concerts, festivals, and other ticketed events. Click here to view our events calendar.
Q: Do you offer RV or boat storage?
A: Yes. Newport Dunes Marina offers long-term boat and boat trailer storage. They do not offer RV storage. They also offer marina guest slips.
Reservations
Q: What is the cancellation policy?
A: Cancellations outside of 72 hours from the reservation arrival date will receive a full refund. Any cancellations made within 72 hours of the reservation arrival date, will be charged the first night of the reservation. The Site Guarantee fees and online booking fees are non-refundable. No refunds for early departures. Please call the resort to cancel or make changes to your reservation. 949-729-3863. Cancellation policy can change at any time without notice. This reservation may need to be terminated due to rules set in place by local or state government agencies.
Q: What is required upon check-in?
A: A state-issued photo identification or passport and a valid credit card to authorize for the full amount of your stay.
Q: Can I reserve a specific RV site or cottage?
A: Yes. You can certainly reserve a specific RV site or cottage based on availability. There is an extra charge and reservations must be made via the phone. Call 949-729-3863 for site-specific reservations. Other reservations can be made online.
A: Early check-ins and late checkouts are based on the day of availability. Please call our reservations team at (949) 729-3863 to check on availability. Any arrivals after 10 p.m. are considered late arrivals. Late RV arrivals must camp in our main parking lot for the night. For cottage late arrivals, keys and check-in information will be held for you at the front gate.
Q: Can I shorten my reservation or change the dates of my stay?
A: Yes. Please call our reservation’s office to adjust the arrival or departure date of your stay.
Accommodations
Q: Do you have ADA cottages?
A: Yes. We have two wheelchair accessible cottages available. Please contact us at info@newportdunes.com to make arrangements.
Q: How many guests can I have in the room?
A: Maximum occupancy per RV site or cottage is six (6) people.
Q: Do you allow tent camping?
A: Yes, we allow tent camping in our Small RV Sites.
Q: Do your RV sites include full hook-ups?
A: Yes. All of our RV sites come with full hook-ups.
Q: Do you have pull-through sites?
A: No. Most of our RV sites are back-in only. However, we do offer a couple of beachfront RV sites that are pull-in sites.
Q: Can I have a tent at the cottage site?
A. No. Tents are not permitted at the cottages.
Transportation & Directions
Q: Is Newport Dunes Resort located on the beach?
A: Yes. We are located on 110 acres in the Back Bay. Our address is 1131 Back Bay Drive, Newport Beach CA 92660.
Q: What are the cross streets?
A: We are located on the corner of Back Bay Drive and Jamboree.
Q: What are the parking options for resort guests?
A: Complimentary Parking is available for one (1) vehicle. Additional parking passes can be purchased for $30 per night for overnight guests.

Q: What are the speed limits?
A: Within the resort, the speed limit is 5 mph. On the promenade, bikes, e-bikes and scooters must stay at or below 3 mph.
Q: Can a guest drive on the bridge?
A: NO. Golf carts and cars are not allowed on the bridge. (Only employees can drive golf carts over the bridge.)
Pets
Q: Is Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort pet-friendly?
A: Yes. Newport Dunes is proud to be the most affordable dog-friendly resort in Orange County, California. Please review our full pet policies. Please note, pets are not allowed in cottages.
Q: Is there a pet fee?
A: Yes. An affordable fee of $2 per day will be charged per pet for all resort guests; the most affordable rate in Newport Beach.
Public Day Visits
Q: Is the beach open to the public?
A: Yes. The beach is open to the public from 8 AM to 10 PM daily.

Q: Can the public use the beach fire pits?
A: Yes. The beach fire pits are available to the public from 8 AM to 10 PM daily.
Q: Where can I find a schedule for Movies on the Beach?
A: Due to our movie license, we cannot publish the titles of the movies. Please call us to find out what movie is playing at (949) 729-3863. All our movies shown are family-friendly.
Q: How much does the public boat launch cost?
A: Boat launch is $15 per day during the winter season and $20 during the summer season. You pay at the Newport Dunes entry gate.
Q: Can I bring and launch my own kayak or SUP?
A: Yes, you can. The beach is open from 8am until 10pm. We do have paid parking.
Q: Do you have shows at the beach that are public?
A: Yes. We have two public restrooms with outdoor showers located along the beach promenade.
